Oprational Mumbai Metro Lines
Line 1- Ghatkopar-Versova-Ghatkopar; The Blue Line

This is the first and one of the busiest Mumbai Metro Lines. It takes around 22 minutes to reach Versova from Ghatkopar, making it very convenient for the travelers where they can save a lot of time in the transit.
This metro line lets you reach Andheri from Ghatkopar in much lesser time and eliminates the need to travel to Dadar and then change to the Western Railway to reach Andheri which would take more than 40 minutes. And let’s not forget the usual train delay and crowds.

Tickets and Smart Cards on Line One
- Over the counter paper ticket with QR code.
- Smart card– Saves time because you don’t have to wait for tickets in a long queue.
You can get it on any ticket counter. This card can be used as Store value pass or a Trip pass. If you go for a Store value pass, then you get to recharge this card with minimum amount of INR 100 to INR 3000 at max. You can recharge the card whenever you want. The card is given at free of cost, however, INR 50 is charged as a safety deposit amount which you will get it back when you will return the card.
Trip pass, as the name suggests is loaded with 45 trips or unlimited trips for a given period of time, mostly 30 days. - PayTM and PhonePe apps lets you purchase your metro line one ticket on your mobile phone.

Line 2A- Dahisar East- Andheri West DN Nagar- Dahisar East; The Yellow Line
Mumbai Metro Line 2, also known as the Yellow Line, is a rapid transit system under construction in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It will eventually connect Dahisar in the northwest with Mandale in Mankhurd via Andheri, BKC and Chembur in the east. This Metro line does not intersect with any Mumbai Suburban Railway.
Metro 2A: This section is 18.589 kilometers (11.551 mi) long and connects Dahisar East to DN Nagar with 17 stations. Phase One of Line 2A was partially opened on 2 April 2022 from Dahisar East to Dahanukarwadi.

Line 7- Dahisar East- Aarey- Dahisar East
This line is partially under construction but a section of the line from Dahisar East to Aarey was opened on April 2, 2022, and another section from Aarey to Gundavli in Andheri (East) was inaugurated on January 19, 2023. The remaining sections of the line are under construction and are expected to be completed in phases.

Under-construction Mumbai Metro Lines
Line 2b- Andheri West & DN Nagar- Mandale- Andheri West & DN Nagar
Line 2B is an elevated line stretching about 42.2 kilometers from Dahisar (already covered under Line 2A) to Bandra and onwards to Mandale. There will be a total of 39 stations on the entire route.
The initial phase of operations is expected to start between Chembur and Mandale by 2024. This 5-km stretch will have five stations: Mandale, Mankhurd, BSNL, Shivaji Chowk, and Diamond Garden.
The Maharashtra government recently approved extending the line by 1.02 km from Mandale to Cheetah Camp. This extension is expected to be completed around the same time as the Chembur-Mandale phase.

This line is now under construction, but more than 90% work is done and is expected to be operational in July 2024. The entire line, spanning 33.5 kilometers and boasting 27 stations, is targeted for completion by the end of 2024. Once operational, it will significantly improve Mumbai’s public transport system, catering to an estimated 1.7 lakh commuters daily.

Mumbai Metro Line 4, also known as the Green Line, is currently under construction and is expected to be operational by December 2025.
Length: 12.744 km (almost 8 miles)
Type: Elevated and Underground (8.765 km underground)
As of July 2024, the project is about 49% complete. This includes:
- 43.44% of viaducts (elevated sections) finished
- 25.20% of stations completed Construction is also underway on a 2.88 km extension, Line 4A, which will add two more stations – Kasarvadavli and Gaimukh.
The project is expected to improve connectivity between Thane and Wadala in Mumbai.

Line 5- Kapurbawdi-Kalyan APMC- Kapurbawdi; The Orange Line
Mumbai Metro Line 5, also known as the Orange Line, is a rapid transit line under construction in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It will be a 24.9 kilometer (15.5 mi) elevated corridor connecting Thane with Kalyan via Bhiwandi. The line will consist of 17 stations, with the exception of a 3 kilometer underground section in Bhiwandi.
The line is being built in two phases. The first phase, from Thane to Bhiwandi, is currently under construction and is expected to open in 2025. The second phase, from Bhiwandi to Kalyan, is in the planning stage.

It’s an extension of Line 7, running from Dahisar to Mira Bhayander. The project aims to provide better connectivity between the Western Express Highway, Western Railway, and other metro lines. It’s expected to significantly reduce travel times between Andheri, CSIA, Dahisar, and Mira Bhayander.

Planned & Approved Mumbai Metro Lines
Line 8- NMIA- CSMIA- NMIA; The Gold Line
Mumbai Metro Line 8, also called the Gold Line, is a proposed line aimed at connecting the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
The line will be elevated and span around 35 kilometers, with about 7-8 stations planned for faster travel between the airports.

Mumbai Metro Line 10 is a planned elevated metro line that will run for about 9.2 kilometers from Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk in Mira Road. This double-decker line is intended to ease traffic congestion on the busy Thane-Bhayandar Highway.

Mumbai Metro Line 11 is planned to be the second underground metro corridor in the city. It will also provide a much needed metro link to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).

Mumbai Metro Line 12, also called the Kalyan-Taloja Line, is no longer just planned – construction began in March 2024! This new line is expected to be a major improvement to public transportation in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
The line will run for 22.17 kilometers (13.78 mi), entirely elevated, connecting Kalyan to Taloja. This will provide a direct connection between Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivli.

Line 13- Mira Bhayander- Virar- Mira Bhayander
Mumbai Metro Line 13, also called the Purple Line, is a planned extension of the Mumbai Metro network designed to improve public transportation in the city.
This line aims to provide a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) for residents of Virar and surrounding areas, improving connectivity to other parts of Mumbai. The number of stations is yet to be decided.
Line 14- Badlapur- Kanjurmarg- Badlapur
Mumbai’s planned 38km Magenta Line (Line 14) is under review by IIT-B. It will have 15 stations (mostly elevated) and connect Badlapur to Kanjurmarg, with interchanges to other metro lines and Kanjurmarg Station.
Navi Mumbai Metro
The Navi Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit system serving Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It began operations on November 17, 2023.
As of July, 2024, only Line 1 is operational. Line 1 runs from Belapur to Pendhar for a distance of 11.1 kilometers and has 11 stations.

Mumbai Monorail
The Mumbai Monorail is a single-track elevated railway system that serves as a feeder service to Mumbai’s Suburban Railway network. It currently consists of one line, Line 1, which runs for 20.21 kilometers from Chembur to Sant Ghadge Maharaj Chowk at Mahalaxmi in south Mumbai.
